Our Story

Action Youth in Development (AYID)

Action Youth in Development (AYID) is a non-profit, non-partisan, and non-political organization. It was established on January 12, 2004, in the Sanaag region by a group of young, intellectual members. These founding members were young educators and intellectuals of mixed gender, diverse ages, and varied backgrounds.

AYID was legally registered in January 2004 by the Ministry of Planning and National Coordination, in collaboration with key ministries including the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Education.

Our approach at AYID is grounded in partnership and participation. By listening to the voices of the community, especially youth and women, we can develop sustainable solutions that truly address their needs and foster a sense of ownership and lasting change.
